Pheeww….I’m now in Kluang as I travel to the South again. Above shows me plotting on top of Gunung Lambak, Kluang, Johor.  I know I won’t get lost cause the staff here are always here to help. They are very nice people who eager to help. All I need to do is just give them a call, a landmark and they will guide you on the phone. Other than that, I always have my map. I bought it for RM18.95 at Petronas. Hehehe. How to read it? Simple. As you came across the highway or a state road, just look at the number in yellow diamond (Refer to the picture below) and refer it on the map. Then only you know which road you cruising in. From there, just follow the map. Otherwise you ending up like me last time: Lost and running out of fuel. Click here for the whole story. As this website objective is to feed us on knowledge about gadgets, therefore I would like to tell you about my first gadget I first receive ever since I start working.

It was a GPS given by my humble staff called Garmin eTrex. Just click on the link to know further more on the device itself. As for my point of view, due to is small size, kind of help to carry everywhere. I use to hang it around my neck. You can simple put it on your dashboard and leave it to determine the North. Awesome man! Loves it! You can also mark and know the distance, land elevation, latitude, longitude, sunset, sunrise and a lot more of every location u went. Regarding to the accuracy, seriously speaking the speed it gave in KM/H was very accurate! I’ve tested in my car and it shows 96 KM/H and at my analog in the car was showing a lil’ over 95KM/H!

However, GPS need to connect to the GPS satelites which minimum 4 satellites. In this case, Garmin eTrex connection requires a lot of time. I hate that part when you need to kind of rush. Also sometimes it heavy rain on the highway, it can simply lost the satelite connection. Other than that, talking about power supply, it runs on 2 AA batteries. Kind of sucks cos those batts wont last that long. Got one time I need to find 7E just to buy the batts for it. Haih!

But for those adventurers like me, you can own this one as a start. I recommend you since its cheap. So you wont regret if you not use it that much. Also, with this ‘amature’ GPS, you won’t get lost again. Hehehe. ;-)
